Segovia, Castilla-León

With its back to the mountains of the La Guadarrama, beyond which lies Madrid, Segovia is one of the better preserved medieval cities in northern Spain, its Alcázar (supposedly a source of inspiration for Walt Disney and the site from which Isabel was proclaimed Queen of Castile in 1474), the last Gothic cathedral built in Spain, and one of the more impressive and well-preserved Roman aqueduct in all of Europe.
